IN LOVING MEMORY - MR. BILLY RAY BALLARD
Billy Ray Ballard, a lifelong resident of Hickory Ridge, Arkansas died Tuesday, May 16, 2006 at the NEA Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas at the age of Sixty-Six. He was born August 14, 1939 in Hickory Ridge, Arkansas, the son of Ray Howard Ballard and Edith Lemke Ballard. He married Miss Mazie P. Wilson on June 22, 1962.
Mr. Ballard was a graduate of Hickory Ridge High School and attended ASU for two years. Billy served in the National Guard during the Central High riots in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was a life long farmer of rice and soy beans. He served as a member of the Cross County Quorum Court for 38 years. He was also a member of the United Methodist church at Hickory Ridge. Billy was an avid deer hunter and a horseman who enjoyed raising hunting dogs, playing with his grandchildren and visiting with his many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Ray and Edith Ballard, and two sisters: Janet Ballard and Diane Burton.
He is survived by His wife of Forty-Three years: Mazie P. (Wilson) Ballard of Hickory Ridge, Arkansas, one son: Kenneth Ballard and wife Chelsea of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Three brothers: Pat Ballard of Hickory Ridge, Arkansas, Larry Ballard of Little Rock, Arkansas, Ricky Ballard of Hickory Ridge, Arkansas, Two sisters: Peggy Vines of Hickory Ridge, Arkansas, Donna Peeples of Gravel Ridge, Arkansas, Two grandchildren: Drew Ballard of Jonesboro, Arkansas and Claire Ballard of Jonesboro, Arkansa

Hickory Ridge - Funeral services for Diann Ballard Burton, 60, of Hickory Ridge, who died Wednesday, Jan. 14, at her residence have been scheduled for 10 a. m. today at Hickory Ridge Baptist Church.
The Rev. Larry Ballard and the Rev. Bill Hall will officiate, and burial will follow in Lewis Cemetery at Hickory Ridge. Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home of Wynne is in charge of arrangements.
Active pallbearers will include David Dallard, Steve Ballard, Jamie Ballard, Tim Ballard, Kenneth Ballard and Pat Ballard Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will include Lance Vines, Rex Vines and Rodney Shelley.
She had worked as a manager for Ballard Mfg., retiring after 15 years, and was a member of Hickory Ridge Missionary Baptist Church. She was a life long resident of Hickory Ridge.
Survivors include her fiance, Wayne "Budd" Marr of Hickory Ridge: a son, John Burton of Memphis; a daughter, Cathy Rogers of Jonesboro; two sisters, Peggy Vines of Hickory Ridge and Donna Peeples of North Little Rock; four brothers, Billy Ray Ballard,Pat Ballard and Ricky Ballard, all of Hickory Ridge, and Larry Ballard of Little Rock; and one grandchild, Ross Rogers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray Howard Ballard and Edith Mae Lemke Ballard, and one sister.
Memorials may be made to Hickory Ridge Missionary Baptist Church.
